Incoming Freshmen Resident students are allowed to park their cars on campus after purchasing a valid ODU parking permit.

Resident Student parking locations are enforced 24 hours per day, seven days per week, year-round for permits. Only one vehicle can be registered to a residential permit at any time.

Students should not bring cars to Norfolk with the assumption that they can be parked on the streets or public areas of our neighboring communities to try and avoid purchasing a parking permit. ODU works with its neighbors to reduce traffic flow and parking in nearby off-campus neighborhoods, and students are expected to help ODU be a good neighbor.

Available to all students living in ODU housing. Valid in Resident parking locations (see map).

*Daily Permits are also available for $10 per day.

Depending on the type of parking permit purchased, it may be eligible for a refund. Permit types other than Fall and Spring semester permits areÌýNEVERÌýeligible for a refund once they have been purchased. Refunds for Fall and Spring semester permits will be issued according to the chart below. Refund Requests must be submitted in writing toÌýparking@odu.edu. Refunds will be calculated based on the date the email was received.ÌýSummer 2025 Semester permits will be available for purchase MAY 1, 2025, and will be valid May 12, 2025 – August 10, 2025.

Due to the many different enrollment options and sessions offered by Old à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã University throughout the summer, Summer Permits (regardless of type or duration) willÌýNOTÌýbe eligible for a refund once they have been purchased.
