The SEES Diversity and Inclusion Committee strives to increase SEES cultural knowledge and capacity to cultivate and sustain a division climate and culture that fosters learning whereby all division staff feel valued, have a sense of belonging, are engaged, and are culturally interconnected across the campus community.Ìý This committee manages division-wide inclusivity practices, aligning with the ODU Monarch Plan for Inclusive Excellence and the SEES Strategic Plan to enhance the cultural richness and climate of the division.

The First-Generation and Social Mobility Committee is dedicated to identifying, building awareness, engaging, and celebrating first-generation college students through inclusive initiatives. It focuses on collaboration among faculty and administrators to advance social mobility practices for underserved populations, including first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented minority students. By developing division-wide programs, initiatives, and recommendations, the committee is actively creating a supportive environment for these populations.
