On August 27, 2021, the presidents of Old à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã University, Norfolk State University and Eastern Virginia Medical School committed to establishing a new joint School of Public Health. This unique collaboration aims to advance health equity through transformative education, scholarship, service, practice experiences and community partnerships.

These institutions have longstanding experience with providing health and community engagement programs that will contribute to the education, research, service and practice foundations of the Joint School of Public Health Initiative.

Currently, faculty, staff and students are working together with local partners to build this initiative and apply for accreditation from the Council of Education for Public Health.
