Off-Campus Housing

New to the Norfolk area? Moving from on-campus to off-campus?

ODU provides assistance to students seeking off-campus housing through an off-campus property listing page, where local landlords and property managers will post available housing, and through off-campus housing fairs, usually scheduled in the Spring semester.

Please note that the listing of off-campus residential properties is provided for informational purposes only and does not imply endorsement or recommendation of any off-campus residential property for security, safety, or suitability by the University. It is the responsibility of the prospective tenant to investigate security, safety and suitability of any off-campus residential property. ODU is not affiliated with any landlord that lists available property including ODUrent.

Live Responsibly

If you have never rented before, you may not fully understand your responsibilities and resources as renters. Often, first-time off-campus renters are faced with many questions:

  • How can I stay safe off-campus?
  • Where can I turn if I have an issue with my landlord?
  • When should I put trash out?
  • How can I get along with my neighbor?

Check out the following resources, which will guide you as you navigate the off-campus experience.
