Oleksii Dubovyk is a Doctoral student in the College of Sciences, majoring in Ecological Sciences. In his dissertation, he aims to reveal the mechanisms and predict the future changes in communities of birds facing rapid worldwide urbanization. Oleksii wants his research to show that even suburbs and industrial areas can host food webs and wildlife. He also hops his research helps develop a general framework that could be used on any taxa to mitigate the negative effects of global change on biodiversity as well as show the power of everyday naturalists for science.
