Iroshmal Peiris is a master’s student studying biology in the College of Sciences. He is currently part of the Avian Ecology Lab, with his research interests including bird ecology, migration, connectivity, and vector ecology. Currently focused on unraveling the mystery surrounding Gulf Coast tick vector hosts in Virginia, Iroshmal aims to bridge the gap in understanding Gulf Coast tick phenology, foreseeing significant implications for public health and the dynamics of pathogen transfer across the state.
