"This is an immense honor for ODU's maritime business program," Ng said. "It is our goal to make MARTRA the outlet of choice for maritime transportation and port business researchers around the world."

Talley recently was one of two co-recipients of the $300,000 International Onassis Prize in Shipping, which is awarded every three years. In 1998, he was awarded the international Senior Hanjin Shipping Prize.

Ng is well known for his research on port and shipping operations and serves as editor or editorial board member for 10 international journals.

"This is an exciting opportunity to further strengthen ODU's international reputation as a promoter of high-quality maritime transportation and port business academic research," Talley said. "With this new milestone, this reputation will further increase."
