The minor in Ocean & Earth Sciences is designed for students who wish to supplement their major course of study with coursework in this field. Juniors and seniors with declared majors in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, computer science, engineering, mathematics or physics are eligible to enter the minor program. Students wishing to pursue the minor may elect to emphasize any aspect of geology, or biological, chemical, or physical oceanography.

Students with majors in other disciplines should consult with the OEAS chief departmental advisor before applying to the program since specific course prerequisites for upper division courses in the minor will be strictly enforced.

To declare this minor, a student must have already declared a major and have a minimum GPA of 2.00.  Students must declare the Ocean and Earth science minor with the chief departmental advisor (CDA). To successfully complete the minor, a student must complete 12 credit hours of OEAS coursework at the 300 and/or 400 level. The following courses do not satisfy the minor requirements:  , ,Ìý²¹²Ô»å .  Students must receive a C or better in each course taken for the minor including prerequisites, and a minimum of six credit hours must be completed at Old à£à£Ö±²¥Ðã University.
